The University of Utah congratulates 8,465 students who recieved their academic degrees on May 2, 2019.

Gettysburg College students take pride in their work, and we are likewise proud to announce their recent academic achievements. Students whose semester averages were 3.6 or above were recently placed on the Dean's Honor List. The following local students have been awarded this outstanding academic achievement in the Fall 2020 semester.

About 1,900 Hofstra University students earned their undergraduate, graduate, or law degrees during commencement ceremonies on May 19-20, 2019 at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex. Watch videos or check out photos from the various ceremonies at hofstra.edu/commencement.

RIT conferred some 4,200 degrees this academic year at all its campuses-including in Croatia, Dubai, Kosovo and China. The university held its 134th annual commencement celebration in May.

Wheaton College students (Wheaton, Ill.) were named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2019 semester.

Degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean's List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of "Incomplete", "D" or "F"; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.

A total of 11,406 students enrolled during the 2019 spring term at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or to undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

Hofstra University is proud to announce the Spring 2019 Provost's List, which recognizes students who have earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average.

Hofstra University inducted 43 students into its chapter of Phi Beta Kappa this spring. Phi Beta Kappa is considered an emblem of high achievement and strong potential. The society celebrates and advocates excellence in the liberal arts and sciences. Its campus chapters invite for induction the most outstanding arts and sciences students at America's leading colleges and universities.

Students who receive a term grade point average of 3.3 or higher while completing at least three courses for a conventional letter grade earn the fall 2018 Dean's Award for Academic Excellence.

Thirty-six students participated in Hamilton's 26th annual Alternative Spring Break. Participants traveled to Rockbridge, Va., Goldsboro-Wayne, N.C., and Marion County, S.C., to work on Habitat for Humanity projects, and to Baltimore to work with youth. Alternative Spring Break is aimed at increasing students' awareness and concern of social issues while generating a life-long interest in community service.

Nearly 500 students at The University of Alabama highlighted their research and creative projects during the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Conference on March 27. The 12th annual conference is hosted by UA's Office for Undergraduate Research and the Office for Research and Economic Development. Poster presentations are grouped by research areas -- instead of by academic colleges or departments -- to align with national trends of using interdisciplinary approaches to problem-solving. The conference spurs interest in research among undergraduate students and helps students polish their communication skills, said Dr. Kim Bissell, director of the Office for Undergraduate Research. "We have got some pretty phenomenal students who are truly doing great things," she said.

The Maurice Horowitch Career Center helps students integrate their liberal arts education into a lifetime of career achievement and satisfaction. The Career Center's Connect Team network associates engage fellow students in industry-specific career-related exploration such as searching and applying for opportunities and building networking skills.

Wheaton College (Ill.) Students Named to Fall 2018 Dean's List

More than 840 students have been named to the fall 2018 Dean's List. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must have carried throughout the semester a course load of four or more graded credits with an average of 3.5 or above.

Hamilton recently welcomed 482 members of the Class of 2022. They were selected from a pool of 6,240 applicants.

Lawrence University has recognized 732 students for academic achievement by naming them to the 2017-18 dean's list. Students must maintain a minimum 3.4 grade point average for the entire academic year to qualify for dean's list honors.

Students who receive a term grade point average of 3.3 or higher while completing at least three courses for a conventional letter grade earn the spring 2018 Dean's Award for Academic Excellence.

Bates College graduated 473 students from 39 states and 42 countries on May 27, 2018. Cumulatively, the Class of 2018 performed 82,000 hours of community service, exemplifying Bates' commitment to community learning and civic action.

The University of Alabama awarded some 5,436 degrees during spring 2018 commencement May 4-6. Wheaton College students performed in "Confessions," the annual spring dance show presented by Zoe's Feet Dance Ministry.

Several local residents made the academic Deans' List at Azusa Pacific University. These students are honored for a spring 2018 grade-point average of 3.5 or better. They are joined by 1,760 students receiving the same honor.

Dean's List honors are earned by undergraduate students who carry 12 or more credit hours and achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher on the 4.0 scale.
